Afterschool Program
SIGN UP TODAY!The Club After School Enrichment Program (AESP) is the Club’s after-school drop-in program held during the academic calendar year. A non-profit program open to all youth with a current Club membership ($50 per year).
Children choose and participate in activities covering the Club’s five core program areas. Members are assembled each afternoon in the gym and given a choice of activities offered that day. Members are separated by grade level to ensure a safe environment for members to interact and participate in organized, structured activities. All activities and programs offered in the AESP are supervised by caring, trained, adult staff.
Below is a list of our five core program areas of the Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Merrimack Valley utilizes in developing and offering programs and activities to its members:
The Arts
Health and Lifeskills
Education & Career Development
Character & Leadership Development
Sports, Fitness, & Recreation
In developing our programs and activities, the Club’s underlying philosophy is the Youth Development Strategy. The YDS enables us to maximize opportunities for young people to acquire the four basic “senses”, which helps them build self-esteem and grow into responsible caring citizens.
These four “senses” are:
A Sense of Competence
A Sense of Usefulness
A Sense of Belonging
