Health and Life Skills
SIGN UP FOR AFTERSCHOOLSew Amazing Program
The Clubs sewing program began eight years ago and has expanded from one day per week to four days per week. Members are making lined beach bags, pants, shirts, pillows, stuffed animals, sleeping bags, skirts, shorts, hats, scrunchies and so much more.
Sewing is available to members in grades 4th and up, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2pm to 6pm.
Culinary Program
With schools cutting programs, there are limited occasions for youth, to participate in cooking programs. The scarcity of these programs creates an opportunity for Club members to learn invaluable life skills and food literacy.
Weekly Classes are the perfect place for members to sharpen cooking skills and stir-up creativity as they explore a different theme each week.
Not only do members experience new foods and preparation techniques, the program is designed to expand learning into the areas of math, science, history and important cognitive skills. Parents love watching their “young chef” grows with confidence and knowledge as they create these recipes at home and develop life-long skills while having FUN!
Garden to Table Garden Club
The Clubs Garden Program has really expanded over the last couple of years. The program has become a year-round program.
This past summer we grew hundreds of vegetables that our member’s families got to take home with them. We also grew 14 pumpkins this year. We plan to expand once again and try our hand at corn this coming year.
We invite you to join us in making gardens an integral part of every school community! You can get involved by, making a donation or volunteering to assist our members in this program
To inspire and enable all young people, especially those that need us most to realize their full potential as responsible, productive, and caring citizens.
